An advanced business diploma's main objective is to educate and train students the necessary skills to successfully undertake the roles of Supervisors, Team Leaders, or Middle Management Officers under Business/Office/Administrative settings.

Who Needs an Advanced Diploma of Business?

The advanced diploma of business is for those individuals that are looking for ways to improve their skills and knowledge in a wide range of business functions. It will be beneficial for those who have significant theoretical business knowledge and skills, but would like to further enhance their understanding of a business, how it functions and what are its significant attributes.

Students will be able to learn about the financial, marketing, human resource, and administrative aspects of a business, which entails a much more wider and educated perspective on their part. The lessons learned from this diploma can give them the vital skills to successfully solve administrative problems and resolve business issues with ease and comfort.

The effect of a business diploma courses can give insights on how the students could contribute to the objectives of the organisation and how they could work within there respective functions.

    • Minimum 18 years of age
    • Completion of Year 12, high school or equivalent
  • Assessment Methods
    Assessment is based on the principles of competency based training. Performance of learners is assessed on their ability to perform the task(s) to industry standards. In order to ensure the principles of validity are upheld variety of learning styles and a range of assessment strategies are used.
    Assessment for each unit of competence will be through a combination of classroom based and work placement tasks. Classroom based assessment includes but is not limited to:
    • Classroom Exercises
    • Asignments
    • Practical Demonstrations
    • Group Activities
    • Projects
    • Verbal and/or written questions
    Students are advised well in advance of assessment activities and a student may put forward for consideration any special needs they may have. The assessment criterion is documented in all modules, and workbooks. Dates of assessment are provided on the first day of class along with a timetable. Students may be assessed by a combination of continuous assessments and examinations. Continuous assessment may be based on competencies and marks, or a combination of both.

  • Uniform
    Business students are not required to wear any uniform while they attend classes.
  • Recognition of Prior Learning
    SAI gives students credits or recognition for skills and knowledge they already possess. An RPL application form can be obtained from SAI.
  • Accreditation
    This program is nationally recognised under the Australian Qualification Framework (AQF) at Diploma level. As a registered training organisation, qualifications issued by SAI are nationally recognised. If all units of competency are not achieved a Statement of Attainment will be issued for the units that have been successfully completed.
  • Articulation
    Upon completion of the Advanced Diploma of Business, students can continue to study Bachelor of Business with Edith Cowan University  or Australian School of Management in  Western Australia.
